Episode 213 of “The Sports Experience Podcast” is here & we’re back on the hardwood discussing Sean Elliott.
A Tucson native, Elliott rose to stardom at the University of Arizona & led the program to its first Final Four in history as a Junior & won the Wooden Award as a Senior.
At the pro level, Elliott was a 2x All-Star, a 1x NBA Champion & solid all-around Small Forward. The former Wildcat proved to be a terrific compliment as an outside scorer to David Robinson & Tim Duncan in San Antonio.
In addition to his three-point shot dubbed the “Memorial Day Miracle” in the 1999 Western Conference Finals, Elliott is most famous for returning to NBA action the following season after a kidney transplant.
One of the Spurs’ all-time best players, Elliott now works as a broadcaster for his former team’s games.
