A premier prospect from Sweden during the late 1980s/early 1990s, Forsberg made his mark immediately in the NHL with the Quebec Nordiques in 1994-1995.
He followed his stellar rookie season with a Stanley Cup championship with the Colorado Avalanche in 1995-1996 & established himself as a star.
Although injuries hampered his career, Forsberg was one of the best Centers of his generation. He was a stellar passer, productive scorer (885 career points), terrific defender and one of the most unselfish stars in hockey.
In addition to earning a second Stanley Cup title in 2000-2001 with Colorado, Forsberg was a winner & legend on the world stage as well. Overall, he won two Winter Olympic gold medals & two World Championships with Sweden.
