The Los Angeles Lakers of the 1980s were nicknamed “Showtime.” They had star power all over their roster and future Hall of Fame players like Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar & James Worthy.
However, it was the lesser-known Kurt Rambis who provided hard-nosed & tough play from the Power Forward position on those teams. Rambis’ hustle & blue-collar attitude complimented his teammates’ play during the 1980s. Rambis won a total of four NBA Titles with the Lakers, and eventually became Head Coach of his former team, the Minnesota Timberwolves and New York Knicks.
