Episode 248 of “The Sports Experience Podcast” is here & we’re back on the gridiron discussing Mike Ditka.
As a player, Ditka revolutionized the Tight End position. One of the first true offensive weapons at that particular spot, “Iron Mike” made the Pro Bowl five times & led the Chicago Bears to the 1963 NFL Title.
A late career stint in Dallas led to his first Super Bowl title in 1970, and Ditka later won another Super Bowl as an assistant with the Cowboys in 1977.
Yet it was as Head Coach with the Chicago Bears where Ditka became an NFL icon. Ditka led the “Super Bowl Shufflin’” Bears to a victory in Super Bowl XX, and won NFL Coach of the Year twice.
