A New Yorker through and through, Carnesecca spent his entire coaching career in the Big Apple. Outside of a stint with the New York Nets of the ABA, Carnesecca is most known for his legendary career at St. John’s.
Overall, the colorful and emotional “Looie” led St. John’s to a Final Four appearance in 1985, an NIT title in 1989, was a 3x Big East Coach of the Year, won five Big East regular season titles and two Big East Tournament championships.
