Today’s passage is about losing control. It’s that feeling of helplessness, of powerlessness - like being on a rollercoaster about to fall off the edge - when there’s nothing you can do to change the situation. You’ve lost control.
For some, it happens in the blink of an eye - you lose a job, you fail an exam, you get hit by a car. But for others, it’s slow - a mid-life crisis, an illness, a strained relationship - that drags for years and years.
