Scripture: Luke 12:16-34
At the foot hills of mt. Sinai God had commanded the Israelites to give Him exclusive devotion with no room for a compromise. However Old Testament history is replete with recurrent issues of idolatry in Israel and Judah. This message looks at the reasons why idolatry was attractive, the sinful practices that accompanied it and the relevance of this commandment for today’s church in the light of Colossians 3: 5. It also discusses 3 common idols of today which are money, sex and self.
