Scripture: John 6
What a beautiful, unique and special time it is to take this hour every Sunday to remember the Lord. When we come, and this is something unique with the Church of Christ, we meet every week to do nothing else but to remember the Lord. We don't come here to talk about ourselves. We don't come here to thank The Lord for what he has done for us throughout the week. We don't come here to talk about the good health HE has given us. Certainly we are all very thankful for all those things and we should be but we are not here to thank him for our health or the job he might has given us or the healing that he brought to us. Not any of those things, but we are here to do just one thing, and that is to focus on the person and the work of The Lord Jesus Christ.
In our lives, what happens is that we tend to lose sight of the fact, that the Christian life is about a person. And it is not about me or you. It is not about what's in it for me or a type of bargain.
Do we see our relationship with our Lord as something we have just for the things that come along with Him? For the gifts or the blessings or the wealth or the prosperity? Why are we following Jesus?
