Scripture: Esther
The pull of the pleasures of the kingdom of the world is strong. This kingdom wants us to identify with itself. It wants us to think and speak like its inhabitants. Remember the Jews were not in their homeland, they didn’t want to go back. But the Kingdom of God calls us to identify ourselves with its inhabitants who have the character of its righteous King. This would mean that we’d lose our identity in this world. We would suffer injustice, be hated and voiceless. But brethren don’t lose heart, for the Kingdom of God is at hand and there will be a great reversal of fortunes. Jesus himself said in Luke 21:12-19. Dear friend, who do you want to identify yourself with?
