Scripture: Daniel 6
Daniel's life is a beautiful representation in the Bible of 'Coram Deo' - a life lived 'before the face of God' - for the glory of God. Our vocation as well as the skill to do it is a blessing from God and to be used for His glory. And today's passage teaches us the right godly attitude towards work when we see it as something sacred and as blessing from God and do everything for His glory.
The vocation that God entrusted Daniel was to serve as a government administrator - like the IAS of today. He started young (in his teens) but he kept learning & growing at his workplace. Kings came & went, kingdoms rose and fell. Daniel stayed on. He is now 90 years old and this chapter is a culmination of Daniel's story from which we can learn how each of us should approach our God-given vocation.
