Recently I had the pleasure of hearing my new friend, Kara Williams, speak to a sweet group of local women I'm a part of. She came to talk to us about business and interior design. And, although we LOVED hearing from her, she mentioned something in her share that made me head straight for her afterwards. I'm learning to boldly ask those I'm feeling called to grab, "Would you be on my podcast?" I know there are people who need to hear about your story dealing with anxiety. Friends, anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the U.S., affecting 40 million adults in the United States age 18 and older, or 18.1% of the population every year. (according to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America). We all know someone or are someone who has a level of anxiety needs to be managed. In this episode, Kara shares with us her life-long struggle with anxiety and what tools she's been able to use to help not only address it, but actually give it space in her life and grace in the process. Today is an important episode. If you hear something that you think would help someone else, please share it.
If you think you need help with this, please make sure you reach out to someone. There is so much help out there and, as we share today, shining a light and talking about it is a great place to start.
Kara is an interior designer and the brand ambassador for Cottages & Bungalows magazine. She has found joy in fixing up the 1901 farmhouse style home with her husband and 2 Great Danes. Go give her a follow!
