PHIL
Good morning! It’s Friday and that can only mean one thing: it’s Five in the Eye day here on Colourful Radio. It’s episode 0428 of the show where we trawl through the week’s news and bring you our latest catch. I’m Phil Woodford in London.

And joining Phil via Zoom, it’s me - Michael Ohajuru - revealing that our top story is going to be relations with China. As allegations of spying swirl around Westminster, there’s a big debate over the kind of relationship we should have with Beijing. Do we stay close for economic reasons? Or stay clear out of security concerns?
PHILAnd for story number two, it’s the impact of tourism on locals. According to The Observer, locals in Amsterdam are fed up with TikTok crazy influencers posing in restaurants and riding bikes around the red district. Shouldn’t they be going to the Rijksmuseum instead?
MICHAEL
And what’s story number three? Well, it’s the pub chain that wants to charge you more for a pint at peak time? Would you pay?
PHIL
And while you’re at the boozer, you could settle down to Liz Truss’ new book, where she dispenses words of wisdom about her lengthy period in office. That’s story number four this week.
MICHAEL
And finally - to wrap up the Eye - it’s the town in Portugal that got flooded by red wine!
PHIL
Apparently it didn’t smell too badly because it was good quality plonk! And that’s this week’s Five in the Eye!
