PHIL

It’s Friday, so that can only mean one thing - it’s Five in the Eye day here on Colourful Radio. In London, I’m Phil Woodford and you’re listening to episode 0432.

MICHAEL

And this is me - Michael Ohajuru - joining Phil via Zoom and revealing that our top story this week is going to be our review of the Labour Party conference. We talked about the Lib Dems and the Tories, so it’s only fair that we turn the spotlight on Sir Keir Starmer’s party and ask: is it now ready for government?

PHIL

And for story number two, with war raging in the Middle East, we look at the role that disinformation and fake news may play in the conflict. And there have been worries about so-called ‘deepfake’ audio closer to home.

MICHAEL

What’s story number three? Well, it’s the extraordinary saga of the famous Sycamore Gap tree by Hadrian’s Wall. It was chopped down in mysterious circumstances and there’s a debate about what should happen next.

PHIL

For story number four, we cover the bizarre request from a bride-to-be that left her sister flabbergasted.

MICHAEL

And to finish the show today, at number five, it’s the great British weather. It’s turning cold and autumnal tomorrow apparently. But did you enjoy the sizzling heat earlier in the week?

PHIL

Time to put away your parasol now, Michael. And that’s this week’s Five in the Eye!
