PHIL

Good morning. You’re listening to Colourful Radio - either on DAB in London and the South East of England - or your streaming us online or over apps. However you’re joining us, you’re very welcome. This is Phil Woodford introducing episode 0441 of our Five in the Eye news review. Thanks so much to Olu Alake for standing in for me last week.

MICHAEL

And this is me - Michael Ohajuru - joining Phil via Zoom and revealing that our top story this week is going to be the dilemma Rishi Sunak faces over his flagship Rwanda policy. He got the first reading of his bill through Parliament, but some MPs to his left and his right are determined to see changes or are threatening to scupper it in the new year.

PHIL

And story number two this week concerns the bizarre comments of minister Kemi Badenoch, who objected to an archeological study into plague in medieval times, claiming it to be ‘woke’.

MICHAEL

So what’s story number three this week? Well the Meta/Ray Ban glasses have caused a stir, as they are wearable tech that incorporate AI. How comfortable are we with the new society that’s emerging?

PHILAnd for our fourth story, it’s the woman who lost a 750,000 Euro ring at the Ritz in Paris. The cleaning staff found it in a vacuum bag!

MICHAEL

And finally, to wrap up the show, we report on the confused burglar who ended up getting suspended upside down by his shoelaces when trying to break into a property.

PHILUpside down? That’s bats! And that’s this week’s Five in the Eye!
