MICHAEL
It’s Friday! So that can only mean one thing. It’s Five in the Eye Day! A very warm welcome from me - Michael Ohajuru - to Colourful Radio’s weekly news review show, Five in the Eye. This is episode 0352.

And joining Michael this week via Zoom, it’s Phil Woodford, revealing that our top story is going to be the sanctions imposed on Russia. The rouble has recovered most of its value and European nations are spending hundreds of millions of euros a day on gas and oil. Is the idea of squeezing Putin a pipe dream?
MICHAEL
Our second story takes us to Brazil. Employers were placing recruitment ads which favoured candidates of Black and indigenous heritage. But LinkedIn stepped in to stop them.

And what’s story number three? Well, it’s a story about a library that’s rather different. Instead of loaning out books, it allows you to borrow everyday items you need - saving money and helping the planet.
MICHAEL
At number four this week, it’s a job at the coldest post office in the world. Down in the Antarctic!
PHIL
And to wrap up the show, at number five, it’s the lorry crash which led to a spillage of chocolate bourbons and custard cremes.
MICHAEL
That certainly takes the biscuit! And that’s this week’s Five in the Eye!
