MICHAEL
Hello and a very warm welcome to Five in the Eye, episode 0367. A prime number show! This is me – Michael Ohajuru – and you’re listening to Colourful Radio.
PHIL
And this is Phil Woodford joining Michael via Zoom for our weekly look back at news stories that have caught our eye. And how can avoid the big story from early in the week: the soaring heat which saw temperatures rise to a sweltering 40 degrees. Are we taking the climate crisis seriously enough?
MICHAEL
Our second story is the ongoing pantomime of the Tory leadership campaign. This week, we discovered the two candidates who are going face-to-face to win the approval of the party membership. And the winner will become our Prime Minister in early September.
PHIL
What’s story number three? Well, there are proposals to relax the rules surrounding weddings. People will be able to tie the knot in a forest. Or maybe even at Ohajuru Towers if it looks smart enough.
MICHAEL
And for story number four, it’s the mega Greggs that opened in Leicester Square with an opening dressed up as a film premiere!
PHIL
And finally, to wrap up the five, it’s the huge fan at Kings Cross tube that became a major draw during the heatwave.
MICHAEL
I know you’re one of my biggest fans, Phil. And that’s this week’s Five in the Eye!
