MICHAEL

Hello and welcome! It’s Friday, so that can only mean one thing: it’s Five in the Eye day! This is me - Michael Ohajuru - with your weekly news review show on Colourful Radio. And this is episode 0371.

PHIL

And joining Michael via Zoom this week, it’s Phil Woodford, revealing that our top story is going to be the threat to businesses - particularly small businesses - as inflation rockets past 10% and energy bills and wages soar. How many of them may end up going bust?

MICHAEL

For story number two, we take stock of recent polls - particularly those showing Labour leading the Tories. Is Keir Starmer’s party far enough ahead to be confident of victory at the next general election? And what impact will a new Tory Prime Minister have?

PHIL

What’s our third story? Well, the Department for Work Pensions has been pursuing a man over money he owes them. A total sum of two pence!

MICHAEL

And story number four, it’s the London man whose pretty house has become a magnet for influencers. He claims they’re doing hundreds of pounds worth of damage.

PHIL

And to wrap up the show today, it’s the Indian families who have named their children after major events - such as Emergency and Lockdown.

MICHAEL

I am changing my name to Cost of Living Ohajuru! And that’s this week’s Five in the Eye!
