PHIL
Hello and a very warm welcome to Five in the Eye, Colourful Radio’s weekly news review show, broadcasting over DAB in London and the South East of England or streamed online from all over the world. I’m Phil Woodford and this is episode 0387.
MICHAEL
And this is me - Michael Ohajuru - joining Phil by Zoom. And I can reveal that our top story this week is about the turmoil in China, as people take to the streets to protest against the extreme Covid restrictions that are still in place around the country. Some have even been calling for the removal of the Communist leadership.
PHIL
And for our second story, we talk about a museum that has effectively closed itself down after deciding that its artefacts are ‘racist, sexist and ableist’. Some have accused the trustees of being cultural vandals.
MICHAEL
What’s story number three? Well, bring in our football correspondent in Liverpool and get his insights into the World Cup. Will England prevail against Senegal? And which team is destined to walk away with the top prize? We may even take a look at some of the controversy surrounding the tournament!
PHIL
For story number four, it’s the pub in west London that’s being taken over by KFC for the duration of the tournament in Qatar. The boozer in Hammersmith has been transformed in a Colonel Sanders-branded bar!
MICHAEL
And finally this week, to wrap up the show, it’s the woman in Florida who’s suing Kraft Heinz because they said one of its products was ready to eat within three and a half minutes. She disputes the claim, saying that her Velveeta Shells and Cheese took longer to prepare.
PHIL
Must be worth a five million dollar pay out! And that’s this week’s Five in the Eye!
