PHIL
Good morning, I’m Phil Woodford and you’re listening to Colourful Radio. It’s time to wish you a very warm welcome to episode 0414 of the Five in the Eye news review, broadcast on DAB in London and the South East of England and streamed online and via apps.
MICHAEL
And this is me - Michael Ohajuru - joining Phil via Zoom and revealing that our top story is going to be the relationship of African countries to Russia. Should they be condemning Putin’s invasion of Ukraine? Or play a more even-handed game?
PHILAnd for story number two, it’s the Labour Party. Sir Keir Starmer retains a strong lead over the Tories in the polls, but some people say he lacks vision. Does Labour need to stand for something more if it’s going to win power at next year’s election?
MICHAEL
What’s story number three this week? Well, it’s the fact that last weekend’s Britain’s Got Talent was won by someone who wasn’t British. And perhaps a little challenged on the ‘talent’ front too! Should we care?
PHIL
For our fourth story, how far would you go to retrieve your phone if you lost it? One Indian official ordered a whole reservoir to be drained! He’s now received a fine.
MICHAEL
And finally this week, to wrap up the Eye, there’s a report which may put you off wearing your socks in bed.
PHIL
But how are we supposed to keep our little tootsies warm? And that’s this week’s Five in the Eye!
