MICHAEL

Hello and a very warm welcome to our weekly news review show here on Colourful Radio -  Five in the Eye -  I’m Michael Ohajuru  in London and you’re listening to episode 0322.

Phil’s away this week, I’m joined by an old friend of the show - lawyer, communications consultant and podcaster extraordinaire - it’s none other than Mr Kola Sonaike. Hi there Kola, welcome back to Five in the Eye!

KOLA

Hi Michael. Good to be back on Five in the Eye! I can reveal that our top story is going to be the Government's social care reform plans. Are they really all that they are claimed to be by Johnson?

MICHAEL

For story number two, a damning new report has found that unemployment among young Black people soared to 41.6 per cent during the pandemic compared to 12.5% for young white people  -  Department for Work and Pensions is unable to explain this  “shocking inequality”

[We're joined Jeremy Crook MBE from the Black Training and Enterprise Group]

Please note the report was published by the Public Accounts Committee not DWP.

What’s story number three? It’s climate change - Britain’s been  forced to fire up coal power plants as calm weather has meant the country's wind turbines have not generated as much power as usual. Is this climate change in action ?

MICHAEL

And for our fourth story,  it’s an oldie, its ABBA. Can  you believe it  after forty years the famous four are back with an album and virtual reality show. Is this the future for aging bands ?

KOLA

And finally, to wrap up the five - Tired of tea scum? How to banish it for ever – and make the perfect cuppa we’re gonna  show you how!

MICHAEL

And that’s this week’s show  -the  perfect cup of tea awaits!....Five in the Eye!
