MICHAEL
Hello and a very warm welcome to episode 0401 of Five in the Eye - Colourful Radio’s weekly news review! In London, this is me - Michael Ohajuru - looking forward to looking back over five of the stories that have caught our eye.

And from Bristol this week, it’s Phil Woodford joining Michael via Zoom and revealing that our top story is going to be the way the law is being abused by politicians. British Home Secretary Suella Braverman tells MPs that there’s better than 50/50 chance her new asylum regulations are illegal.

Fivwe in For our second story, we look at the hullabaloo over Sue Gray. You’ll remember she was the senior civil servant whose report into Partygate we so eagerly awaited! Well, a year later, she’s joined Sir Keir Starmer as his Chief of Staff. Some Tories are up in arms!
PHIL
And what’s story number three? Well, it’s Boris Johnson’s honours list. Not only did the former PM seemingly nominate his own dad for a knighthood, but he’s also promoting people Michael judges to be worryingly young!
MICHAEL
Fourth on the list this week is a community in East London brought together by potatoes. In order to save money and energy, different people take it in turns to bake the spuds for neighbours - filling just one oven with the tasty grub, rather than several.
PHIL
And finally this week, to wrap up the five, tidiness guru Marie Kondo finds she’s no longer able to maintain her meticulous standards now she has kids. We ask: is it trendy to be untidy now?
MICHAEL
We’ll clear all that up later in the show! And that’s this week’s Five in the Eye!
