MICHAEL
Hello and a very warm welcome to Five in the Eye on Colourful Radio! As regular listeners will know, this is the show when we send our trawler out to catch the week’s top stories and the sift through them in our news nets. I’m Michael Ohajuru and you’re listening to episode 0410.
PHIL
And joining Michael via Zoom this week it’s Phil Woodford, revealing that we’re welcoming a special guest to the show. She’s been a loyal supporter of our news review since the early days, but is joining us for the first time today. It’s Lola Hatmil! Hi there Lola and welcome to Five in the Eye.

Hi Phil, hi Michael. It’s great to be here on the show. So what’s our first story going to be this week? Well, Netflix has come under fire from the Egyptian government for its portrayal of a Black Cleopatra.
MICHAEL
And what’s story number two this week? It’s the Metropolitan Police exercising powers to detain republican protesters in advance of the King’s Coronation. A step too far?

And veteran singer Lionel Richie made an appearance at King Charles’ party, but some were underwhelmed by his performance and telling him that now is the time to take it ‘Easy’. We ask Michael whether older people should know when the moment comes to gracefully retire. That’s story number three.
LOLA
For story number four, we know Phil doesn’t have a driving licence. But thankfully he hasn’t been out on Britain’s roads for the last half century, like one man recently apprehended by traffic cops!
MICHAEL
And to wrap up the show this week, would you get bored and a little bit annoyed if someone kept you waiting for your own Coronation? That certainly seemed to be the reaction of our new King.
PHIL
One is most frustrated! And that is this week’s Five in the Eye!
