Description

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder that affects predominately the dopamine-producing (“dopaminergic”) neurons in a specific area of the brain called substantia nigra. Symptoms generally develop slowly over years, and the progression of these symptoms is often a bit different from one person to another due to the diversity of the disease (Parkinson's Foundation). While there currently is no cure for PD, researchers are working diligently to develop new technologies to make living with PD a little bit more bearable.

Join us this week as we discuss the symptoms, causes, treatments, and advancing research surrounding Parkinson's, as well as 10 early signs of PD and how to proceed after receiving a diagnosis.
