Description

On this episode of the Dripping in Black Podcast, we are Dripping in Rodeo Royalty with Khalilah Smith.  Khalilah shares with us how her love for horses helped her face a challenging childhood, and how caring for and riding horses eventually led her to Michigan State University and the MSU Rodeo Club. While earning a Bachelor’s Degree at MSU, Khalilah began to flourish in the rodeo circuit, becoming Miss Michigan State Rodeo Queen in 2018 and Miss Rodeo Queen for the State of Michigan in 2023; she is the first Black woman to ever hold either title. Khalilah tells us how she’s embracing the challenge of being a pioneer in this space and her hopes to inspire others. Beginning Tuesday, December 6, 2022, the Dripping in Black Podcast showcases another true story of Black Excellence, the dynamic story of Khalilah Smith. Join us!
