Direct from Wikipedia: "Financial independence is the status of having enough income (from investments, passive businesses, real estate, etc.) to pay for one's reasonable living expenses for the rest of one's life without having to rely on formal employment."
The typical way to achieve FI is to focus on your savings rate and lower spending while increasing income.
BUT is that what FI really is???
What if FI does not mean I have enough money to meet all my needs?
What if FI = I don't need money to live my life well.
That's hard to believe... not needing money to live life well. full stop.
