James Hammonds Jr. is an inventor, entrepreneur, and educator. He was born in Chicago and studied Mechanical Engineering at Howard University. James went on to receive a doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, after which he taught as a tenured faculty at Howard University's school of engineering. James would later found Potluck Technologies to use nanotechnology to solve global problems in health care and the environment.
