Another Monday brings another incredible guest. I am a very proud graduate of Ball State University, but I was able to get to speak with one of the most recognizable institutions among Historically Black Colleges & Universities, the 12th President of Morehouse College, Dr. David A. Thomas.
This past week, almost every Historically Black College & University President and Chancellor signed a letter to both Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell regarding the funding needed and required to continue to be beacons of hope into the world. But, they consistently have not been getting the financial support that other colleges and universities get from both state and federal government.
With the Build Back Better Plan, HBCU’s will have $10 billion invested into them, and locally, Dr. Thomas & I discussed the plan's benefit, what it would look like for its institution, and with the headlines that Howard University have had recently, the relationship that Morehouse administration has with its own student body.
