In a very special bonus episode your favorite geeks travel back in time to give you a taste of what digitalSoup would have been like had they been doing a show back in the eighties! It’s an awesome decade when the WWF was king, CD’s were new tech and the biggest movies were starring Stallone and Michael J Fox. Buckle up because we’re taking the kitchen back to 1985 in this time traveling bonus episode to make a vintage batch of digitalSoup!

Big news because up until now we’ve only really seen the .edu domains for educational insitutions. This internet thing seems interesting but maybe a little gimmicky.
Compact Discs
Now these have been around for a bit but they are kind of expensive still. I saw at Radio Shack they had a Compact Disc Digital Audio Player and it comes in at about $400 but for the amazing sound quality it may be worth it! They are even coming out with some portable compact disc players called a discman so you can take your music with you!The band Dire Straits and their album Brothers in Arms, which includes of course their massive hit song Money for Nothing, is the first band/album to sell 1 million copies on CD alone! Of course other artists are on the CD train with David Bowie making history as the first artist to convert his entire catalog to CD. That’s 15 albums plus his 4 greatest hits albums.
