Do you walk in Joy? Proclaim it from the mountaintops. Pastor/Professor Andrew Marquez teaches from the Christmas Carol, Go Tell It on the Mountain. This hymn begins with an Abrupt Announcement to humble shepherds. Shepherds hold a special vocation in God's kingdom. He calls Himself the Good Shepherd. These shepherds were ready for the message as they performed their duty of caring for their flocks. Next, the hymn tells of a Glorious Gospel. The message was heralded by angels. It spoke of joy for all people. Verse 3 expresses a Surprising Salvation. Featuring the humility of God, a child in a manger has come to save the humble. Finally, the chorus of the carol calls us to Passionate Proclamation. A story fulfilled must also be a story shared. Who can you tell today?
