Description

In this episode, we talk about the state of being grateful as we are in the season of thankfulness.  We love the quote from Zig Ziglar “Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions. The more you express gratitude for what you have, the more likely you will have even more to express gratitude for.”  The practice of gratitude has incredible effects such as decreases stress, improves mental health, builds relationships, strengthens your immune system, and even helps with sleep.  So where does one start?  We have listed 10 simple things you can incorporate into your daily routines to increase your gratitude practice.

Here are 10 easy ways to make gratitude a part of your everyday.

  1. Watch inspiring videos like Ted Talks and motivational YouTubes.

  2. Add one act of kindness to your daily routine.  Try purchasing someone’s coffee or let another driver into the lane.

  3. Start a gratitude journal and jot down 3 things from your day that you are thankful for.

  4. Start and end each day writing down at least 3 things you are grateful for. Make sure they are different every time.

  5. Write someone an encouraging letter, text, email, or even post on social media.

  6. Tell your people how much you appreciate and love them.

  7. Stay away from negative people, environments, and media.

  8. Call a family member or friend just to reach out and check on them and let them know how much they mean to you.

  9. Say “thank you” every possible time you can, look for ways to genuinely acknowledge and thank people who deliver services like food servers, grocery workers, and delivery drivers.

  10. Start new family traditions at meals by having everyone say something they are grateful for that day.

The most beautiful way to start each and end each day with a grateful heart. A heart that is grateful is a happy and healthy heart!
