Hold em’ if you got em’
On the fifth episode of Judy’s Jungle Amy Blashke (not bashke) joins me to share some tunes, talk about her circular moves to different cities, explains how David Gilmour (from pink Floyd) is breathy, and also shares and performs a gorgeous song that she hasn’t written to long ago titled “our harmony earth.”. It was a treat to catch up with Amy as she curated a lovely set that intertwined and tells stories of love, loss, and the ability to reshape yourself. Amy talks about the mastery of Nina Simone and although we hit a glitch while recording, we discovered that “Don’t be misunderstood” was a song written for Nina to record by Bennie Benjamin, Horace ott, and Sol Marcus in 1964. That surely was a highlight of the day. One disclaimer, Twink did not play on the album parachute with the pretty things, rather he played on their rock opera “S.F. Sorrow” a psychedelic milestone. Sorry for that misinformation. It was nice to catch up with amy and chat, eat some grapes, and laugh a whole bunch. Thanks for joining us, this was super fun and I am looking forward to hear more of amy’s songs. Love you amy. Remember, if you are worried about a friend or thinking about a friend, give them a call. It goes a long way.
