Yolanda T. Ross is an accomplished multi-hyphenate award-winning socially
driven storytelling Actress, Writer, Producer, and Filmmaker. Helming from the
deep southern state of Mississippi, she knows how to use expression and control
to bring the audience along on the journey with her from the beginning of the
story to the end. She made her film debut in 2007 in a lead role in the
independent short, Switch. Other lead roles quickly followed in various plays,
shorts and feature-length films while building her resume in Atlanta.
In 2010, after grounding herself in film and stage in Georgia, she decided to take
the leap to Los Angeles, the land of television and film, to pursue her career full-
time. Since landing in Los Angeles, she has starred in her own award-winning
written and produced works titled The Last Day and Victus. Her previous works
also include the films TIFF, Circle, Vitality, Between The Miles, Vicious, and Love
Triangle. She landed a recurring role in the CW hit TV Show Black Lightning
where she plays the hard working mother of the character Khalil Payne (a.k.a.
