Anne Elizabeth Moore is a writer and cultural critic. She was born in South Dakota before spending 30 years in Chicago.
Now she lives in the Catskills, in upstate New York, where she continues to write.
Her new book, "Gentrifier: A Memoir", has come out from Catapult Books in October and has just received the NPR (National Public Radio, in the United States) Award for the Best Book of 2021. It deals with the ethics of owning and selling property as a white woman in Detroit, a majority Black city, and 'Banglatown', a majority Bangladeshi neighborhood in the city.
