Hadiibah John is a Dîné artist and painter who likes to blend traditional Navajo culture with modern art forms such as Japanese anime.
She is a fluent Navajo speaker and traditional sheep herder. She lives in Kayenta, on the Navajo Reservation, in the Southwestern United States. Her recent artwork focuses on the depiction of women as warriors symbolizing their strong identity.
Here, she speaks to Radio Aula Mundi from her home before going back to taking care of her family’s sheep herd.
