Description

It's thirty years since the world fell in love with Anthony Hopkins as a whacky cannibal by the name of Hannibal (even though we'd already met the character five years before when Brian Cox did a turn in Michael Mann's neo-noir Manhunter, and we would go Mads for Mr. Mikkelsen's interpretation on the small screen). It's still Tony's performance opposite opposite Jodie Foster in Jonathan Demme's multi oscar winning film that became the gold standard for on screen cannibals, destroyed the liver industry and that most people think of every time they hear fava beans.

So, to celebrate its anniversary, we take a look at the film, as well as some of the others based on the work of Thomas Harris as we do a deep dive into The Silence of the Lambs.
