Death is an uncomfortable subject, but it can provide a ton of great perspective.Death is not something that is comfortable to talk about it, and I can't say even for myself that I'm 100% comfortable. What I have become comfortable with is the fact that it's an inevitable part of life. This has provided a ton of perspective and made me really think about my priorities. I've been forced to think about my legacy, and what I truly want out of life. An app that I downloaded about a year ago called WeCroak completely shifted my thoughts on death, because the reminder it provides brings it to top of mind and keeps you present. The other reasons I think it's important we start to have discussions around it is so loved ones know what we expect when it's our time. Rather than them suffering even more because they're not sure about your choices surrounding care and treatment.
