In 1959 between February 1st and 2nd, 9 Russian hikers went missing and were subsequently found dead over a period of a couple of months. The circumstances surrounding what happened are still essentially unknown though the Russian Government states it was an avalanche, but there are many theories, and none of them really clearly explain the events that went down.
