Scientist is the kind of profession that requires most curiosity, patience and diligence. Tommy sees it also as the kind of career rewards highest level of sense of satisfaction. Growing up in a fast-food culture city like HK that people are usually in love with short-term success, Tommy had difficulty fitting in his high-school favourite subject Biology into his picture of the future. A few lab internship experience at college motivated him to further spend 5-years at school to complete PhD in Developmental and Stem Cell Biology. He spoke about his mentality change, UK's edge for a scientist, the financial incentive and the growth journey of the research career path, and his plan to continue success in the academia world.
