This is a special recording for students of UST taking politics and media. This talk is about the potentials and pitfalls of new media in relation the experience of podcasting. It also reflects on questions concerning the impact of smartphones and social media on political participation, disinformation and propaganda, accountability, and democracy itself. It concludes by exploring ways to adapt and adjust to these changes, insisting that man is the political animal and not the smartphone.
