Before the start of our second season, we discuss two important news items that happened alongside the filing of candidacies. First, Maria Ressa, journalist and founder of Rappler. was awarded the Nobel peace prize, making her the first Filipino Nobel laureate. Second, Chito Gascon, chairman of the Commission on Human Rights, passed away due to Covid and we remember our experiences with him as a colleague, and his status as a fighting liberal and model citizen.
This is just a taste until we officially return on October 30
