Monero's former lead maintainer, Riccardo Spagni a.k.a. FluffyPony, was arrested recently on fraud and theft charges stemming from a former workplace over 10 years ago. But this could mean a lot more, especially in light of the recently-discovered security and privacy vulnerabilities in MyMonero, the infamous web wallet and infrastructure for the Monero ecosystem.
