Description

In this episode Jay and I discuss the UK educational system, what is working well and what’s not working so well. The differences between public, grammar and state schools and the unfair advantages that follow and how we can to make it better and level the playing field. We also explore how we fare internationally compared to our international counterparts and which countries are excelling on this front with a very robust and comprehensive educational system but perhaps lacking on the real life skills we all need in adult life. All of these facets will impact the jobs that we will be able to do in the years to come as we work in a much more borderless way, which has been expedited by Covid 19. This podcast is important to me personally and its crucial that all children are given an opportunity to develop, pursuing their interests and have a strong foundation so that they can thrive in whatever they choose to do. I therefore was delighted to have my friend, Jay whose an ex-banker turned entrepreneur whose been working in the educational sector for 10 years and has a wealth of knowledge through his business know-how including with the UK governments steering committee on how to navigate this vital sector. Jay recommends reading Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell which isn’t focused on the educational sector but a great read for developing personally and professionally. Sending you all love and light. 🙏
