Episode 43 of Inside Warhawk Athletics Presented by Educators Credit Union includes a conversation with Frank Barnes, who is in his 19th season coaching the UW-Whitewater men’s tennis team and his 18th year coaching the Warhawk women. Under his guidance, the men have qualified for 12 of the last 13 NCAA Tournaments, reaching the Round of 16 three times, and the women have claimed 13 straight Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships and 12 consecutive NCAA Tournament bids, including six trips to the Round of 16. Barnes’ career dual record on the men’s side is 339-154 (.688), and on the women’s side is 319-116 (.733), including 102 straight victories in dual matches against WIAC foes. He graduated with a bachelor’s in economics, statistics and actuarial science from the University of Wisconsin in 1989, and later earned his master’s in professional development with emphasis in health, human performance, recreation and coaching from UW-Whitewater.
