Episode 44 of Inside Warhawk Athletics Presented by Educators Credit Union includes a roundtable discussion with Vanessa Olinger, Blaise Wilson and Morgan McEntire, who are each members of the Warhawk gymnastics team. UW-Whitewater’s 2020 season was canceled following the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship/National Collegiate Gymnastics Association West Regional. The team will begin an abbreviated, four-meet 2021 season on Feb. 27.
Olinger and Wilson were each part of the 2018 national championship team. Wilson is a two-year All-American and the 2020 Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association NCGA West Region Gymnast of the Year. Olinger competed on balance beam and floor exercise at the 2019 NCGA Championship and for two straight years at the WIAC Championship/NCGA West Regional. McEntire, who missed the 2019 season due to injury, competed on vault at the 2020 WIAC Championship/NCGA West Regional.
Olinger, Wilson and McEntire discussed their journey to UW-Whitewater, their experiences as members of the team and how their participation in gymnastics and intercollegiate athletics will help them in the future.
