Episode 34 of Inside Warhawk Athletics Presented by Educators Credit Union includes a conversation with Ronny Ponick, a running back for the UW-Whitewater football team from 2016-19. He tallied 1,642 rushing yards and 19 rushing touchdowns for his career, including career bests of 890 yards and 11 touchdowns as a junior in 2018. Ponick helped the Warhawks claim three WIAC championships and three appearances in the NCAA Playoffs. He served as a captain and won the team’s Bob Bass Most Inspirational Memorial Award in 2019, when the Warhawks reached the Stagg Bowl (NCAA Division III national championship game) for the 10th time in program history. Ponick graduated from UW-Whitewater with a degree in physical education. He currently serves as an intern in strength and conditioning at Army West Point in New York.
