It was an absolute pleasure to spend time speaking with the gentleman who is Ed Drake on the podcast recently. Ed shares with us his journey from “The most expensive Inset Day” for his parents, to his time at the Olympics and his desire to help Athletes transition from sport to careers outside the field of competition. We also talk about his Podcast, his Ski Racing Prediction League.
Ed is British former alpine skier and ski cross racer. He represented Great Britain at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver where he took part in the men's downhill, super-G, giant slalom and combined. As a four-time British champion he won the giant slalom and combined in 2008 and 2009. In 2013 Ed switched from alpine skiing to ski cross but narrowly missed out on qualifying for the ski cross competition at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. In May 2016 Drake announced his retirement from racing. Following his retirement Ed turned to broadcasting & commentating on Eurosport's World Cup coverage and becoming a newsreader.
