Description

In this podcast, you'll hear Michelle talk about her inspiring journey through a life filled with serious health complications, and how she managed to not only survive them but thrive despite them!

Michelle Curl has experienced a great deal of adversity in her young life of 22 years. We're not talking about a not making the basketball team kind of adversity either. Michelle has had a slew of health issues beginning in middle school with a lupus diagnosis (which later found to be something else), before having a kidney fail, contracting COVID-19, and even developing a kind of cancer. The bulk of her ailments afflicted her mostly during her college years at Eureka, a period of time that traditionally consists of adventure, excitement, learning, and fun.

SHOW NOTES: Michelle wanted me to mention that around 18:25 she says she did "Hemodialysis" and that was a misspeak on her part, what she meant to say was "peritoneal dialysis",  a type of dialysis which uses the peritoneum in a person's abdomen as the membrane through which fluid and dissolved substances are exchanged with the blood. It is used to remove excess fluid, correct electrolyte problems, and remove toxins in those with kidney failure.
