In this episode we look at what it means that Adam was created in the image and likeness of God, and how the writer of Hebrews sees Jesus as entering into the story of Adam and carrying it to completion.
Genesis 1:26 - Adam was made in the image and likeness
Genesis 3:1-5 - The "serpent" tempts Eve with "becoming like God"
Genesis 3:22 - God recognizes that Adam and Eve have "become like us in knowing good and evil" implying the quality of being made in the "likeness of God" is something that can increase, and therefore also decrease.
Hebrews 5:5-10 - The Hebrew writer sees Jesus as entering into the story of Adam and completing what Adam left undone, repairing the damage.
Psalm 8:4-6 - The Psalm quoted by the Hebrew writer, which in turn echoes the language and logic of Gensis 1:26
