Description

In this episode we look at how Adam was created frmo the dust of the earth, an the implications of that for Adams initial human nature. We define some of the key terms in Genesis 2:7 like "living being/soul" and note that Adam was created from the very beginning with a vulnerability to death - he was not created with a covering of light or an immortal body.

Genesis 2:7 uses the term "living soul" or "living being." This same term is used to describe the animals in Genesis 1:20,21,24. It also says that God breathed into his "nostrils" the breath of life, a term and similar phrase that is also used to categorize both animals and humans after the flood in Genesis 7:21-23. The point is that Adams body was not different from animals as it related to its vulnerability to death. His body was like that of animals in that it could be cut open and bleed etc.

The passage in the New Testament that quotes Genesis 2:7 is 1 Corinthians 15:45
