In this episode we look at the sin of Ham and Nimrod, and how they represent a common tendency in all of us to fulfill legitimate desires in illegitimate ways. Both Ham and Nimrod were seeking to control their own lives - and the lives of those around them - in ways that violated God's plan.

Leviticus 20:17 - the idioms of "seeing someone's nakedness" and "uncovering someone's nakedness" are equated
Leviticus 188,10,14,16 speaks of uncovering nakedness as sexual relations.
2 Samuel 12:8 speaks of David receiving the concubines of Saul, implying this as a gesture of transferring royal status and power over to David.
2 Samuel 16:20-23 speaks of Absalom going into David's concubines in the sight of al Israel as a way to provoke David because it was a gesture of wanting to usurp David and his throne.
1 Kings 2:13-25 Adonijah asks the newly appointed King of Israel - Solomon - to give him David's concubine Abishag. Solomon understood this to be a gesture of rebellion and attempt to usurp his throne. SO he kills Adonijah and those who were a part of his coup.

Matthew 4:8-11 Jesus is tempted to fulfil his legitimate desire to rle over the kingdoms of the world in an illegitimate way - worshipping Satan.
